Dr. Shang Jin is the Chair of the Technical Committee at AICC (Automotive Intelligence Control of China) Inc. He previously served as the CEO/CTO of AICC, Inc., and was the founding CEO of GAC (Guangzhou Automotive Group) Silicon Valley R&D Center. Dr. Shang has also held key positions in the network security industry, including Chief Scientist at Hillstone Networks and Senior Architect at Juniper Networks, Fortinet, and SonicWall. Throughout his career, Dr. Shang has led the development of numerous industry-leading products and standards in the fields of smart vehicles, autonomous driving, and automotive security. His achievements include defining and overseeing the mass production of the Autonomous Driving Operating System across multiple vehicle models, designing Automotive Security Architecture and Firewall products, developing Big Data Analytics for Automotive Battery Management Systems (BMS) and behavioral data, advancing Cloud-Vehicle collaborative computing for Autonomous Valet Parking (AVP) and autonomous driving, and architecting the Smart Chassis Operating System. Additionally, he has spearheaded the development of large model software platforms for vehicles. In the security domain, his work has focused on ICT firewall/IDP, AI-driven security, and ensuring the security of AI and large models, including in prompts and AI agents for autonomous driving applications. Dr. Shang also holds several notable leadership positions, including Chair of the Basic Software Working Group for the China Industry Innovation Alliance for Intelligent and Connected Vehicles (CAICV), Deputy Chair of the Software Division of the China Society of Automotive Engineers (C-SAE), Vice Chair of the IEEE Autonomous Driving Working Group (IEEE-ADWG), Executive Director of the China-Europe Intelligent and Connected Vehicles Alliance, and Director of the ICV Software Lab at the Shenzhen Tsinghua Research Institution (RITS). He has been recognized with the National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award, holds over 50 patents and has published numerous papers in tire mechanics, autonomous driving, smart vehicle technology, and network security. Dr. Shang is also recognized as a National-Level Entrepreneurial Talent. He holds a bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. in automotive engineering (2000)from Tsinghua University and a master’s degree (2001)in computer science from the University of Southern California.
