Visa Information

General

As of July, 2024, there's no need for a China visa for visitors from most countries. Please check your country of nationality, and your planned duration of stay to determine whether you should apply for one.

Visa Exemption

The government of the People's Republic of China allows holders of ordinary passports issued by some countries to travel to mainland China for business and tourist trips for up to 15, 30, 60 or 90 days without having to obtain a visa.

Comment Holders of ordinary passports issued of the following countries may enter China without a visa as long as their visit does not last longer than the visa-free period listed below, unless if they are allowed to extend their stay:

72/144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Currently, 38 exit-entry ports in 18 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government of China have implemented the 72-hour or 144-hour visa-free transit policy for foreign nationals from 54 countries.

Longer Stays
30/90 Day Mutual Visa Exemption Agreements

For longer than 144-hour stays, some countries have agreements with PRC to allow up to 30 day or longer statys. Please check with your local travel agency for confirmation.
