Dr. German Ros serves as Executive Director of the CARLA organization at the non-profit Embodied AI Foundation. He is also Director of Simulation Ecosystem Development at NVIDIA Dr. Ros is passionate about enabling safe autonomous systems by building modern simulation platforms to accelerate development and validation cycles. Dr Ros’ work intersects areas such as simulation for autonomous systems, AI, 3D computer vision, and computer graphics. Dr. Ros has driven large open-source projects such as the CARLA Autonomous Driving simulator, and the Open3D processing library. Dr. Ros has also served as Director for Autonomous Agents Research at Intel, leading a distributed and multi-disciplinary team to develop new technologies in the areas of digital twins and simulation.. Before Intel, Dr. Ros was a research scientist at Toyota Research Institute (TRI). He obtained his PhD in Computer Science at the Computer Vision Center and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2016).
